Accepted materials

Check the contents.
Then start loading.

Approval depends on the materials and the load. Use this as a starting checklist, not blanket permission for every item.

Common examples to discuss

  • Household furniture and shelving
  • Boxes and general clearout belongings
  • Approved timber and cabinets
  • Approved carpet and flooring

Confirm separately

  • Appliances and electronics
  • Tile, plaster and other dense debris
  • Soil, concrete and outdoor debris
  • Treated timber or mixed materials

Keep out of general loads

  • Chemicals and hazardous materials
  • Cinder blocks
  • Unknown liquids or unsafe contents
  • Suspected asbestos-containing materials

Weight matters as well as space

Roofing, flooring and other renovation waste can be heavy without filling the bin. Agree material-specific loading limits. Do not assume a 20-yard bin can be filled to the rim with any waste.

Not sure about an item?

Describe it or send a photo through your own text app before loading. Do not conceal uncertain materials in bags or mix them into an approved load.

Separate disposal routes

Municipal collection rules are separate from Bin and Gone's terms. Check Durham Region's hazardous-waste and facility guidance for items needing another route. Keep all general loads below the rim and follow the team's instructions.
