Your three-part project check
Send a view of the approach
Photograph the driveway from the street, then show the intended spot. Mention slopes, gates, overhead branches and parked vehicles. Ask for the actual truck and bin clearances; an online bin illustration cannot confirm a fit.
- Keep pedestrian routes and entrances clear.
- Agree permission for shared or managed spaces.
- Keep the collection approach open throughout the rental.
Do not plan to store the bin on the road
Clarington says waste bins must not be stored on the road. Ask the municipality about any proposed occupation of a sidewalk, boulevard or other municipal right-of-way. Do not assume a roadway permit overrides the road-storage prohibition.
Check the surface and collection plan
Discuss surface protection, placement and loading with the team. Do not move the bin yourself. If your project or access changes during the rental, call before changing the arrangement.
Quick answers
Can you deliver to a townhouse or shared driveway?
It depends on the actual access and placement area. Share photos of the approach, proposed spot and any obstacles. Obtain property permission where needed, and keep neighbours and pedestrian routes clear.
Can the bin be placed on the road?
Do not plan road placement. Clarington says waste bins must not be stored on the road. Discuss a suitable private-property location and any municipal right-of-way questions before booking.
